Every week Community Spotlight will showcase one of the amazing communities you can find with Thredd. Today’s post is about r/SelfSufficiency, a forum providing “resources to help you live self sufficient.”

This subreddit is awesome. People here are producing their own food, which generates food scraps, which feed chickens, who produce extremely fertile compost, which is used to grow more food. Check out this video to see what I’m talking about.

Other people are recycling plastic bottles to use as miniature greenhouses when growing trees.

And some are even talking about building their own houses.

I spent a lot of time on r/SelfSufficiency today but I don’t think it was wasted. It opened my mind to how far people can get with brain cells, elbow grease, and Mother Nature. Seriously consider visiting this subreddit and its related communities!

Thredd is a smarter way to surf the web by connecting with the people who were there before you. Look for Thredd on the Chrome Web Store and on Firefox!
